June 15th, 2018: Last Day for Public to Comment on Existing Conditions

The Culver City Bicycle & Pedestrian Action Plan website was launched on October 9th, 2017, soliciting comments from the public on where they feel unsafe or where they would like to see improvements to the bicycling and walking environment. After 250 days, the project will enter its next phase.

On June 15, 2018 the interactive map documenting comments and feedback  will be available for public viewing, but will not accept new comments. But fear not: there will still be many opportunities to provide feedback on the BPAP!

This change ushers in that the project is entering into it’s next phase: Draft recommendations. The City staff and consultant team will be analyzing the hundreds of public comments submitted to date to make recommendations on possible projects, and will return to the public, seeking their input on the proposed changes. A draft plan will released to the public in fall/winter 2018 and then a final plan will be brought back to the public in 2019 for adoption.

If you wish to stay informed on the project, you can provide your email and contact information here. If you have previously provided your email address to the project team on the website, at one of our many Community Outreach events, or emailed a comment, you are already on our email list. If you aren’t sure, feel free to submit your contact information again!

BPAP at the 2018 Culver City Walk & Roll Festival

On Sunday, May 6th, 2018 about 100 students and their caregivers headed to Ballona Middle School for the 5th annual Culver City Walk & Roll Festival, thanks to the hard-working staff of Walk ‘n Rollers. The Culver city Bicycle & Pedestrian Action Plan outreach team w

as part of the celebration, asking people for input to help us build our plan.

The BPAP team had maps of each of the five school sites in the city, asking people to let us know where they would want to see improvements near their school. We also had a printed version of our online survey, and an opportunity for written comments.

Thanks to everyone who came out for this fun, free family day — and a special thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth. If you missed us, but still want to provide feedback on the BPAP, head to our main page at CulverCity.BikePedPlan.com.
